Hand-signed Double Hit Flatbed Giclée Boutique Limited Edition Artwork by Billy Connolly.

Finding himself fascinated by the array of textures, sizes and materials of the decorative baskets of balls that have become commonplace in design showrooms, Billy wanted one despite acknowledging their uselessness. Using his signature detailed linework, he interpreted these spherical objects in his distinctive style.

The artwork’s colourful geometry with circles overlapping circles, draws our eyes inwards and outwards – inviting us to question what we are seeing, while appreciating the captivating pattern. Connolly added a rainbow of colour to the intricate drawing, breathing life into the piece and transforming what was once an unnoticed basket of balls into a vibrant and playful work of art.

Unable to think of a suitable name for this artwork, Billy decided to employ a favourite phrase, titling the piece ‘A Load of Old Bollocks’. As Billy says, “It’s a lovely statement. You can say it wherever you like!”. Its purpose is to bring joy, just like Billy’s artwork.
