The Collector Series captures a defining chapter in Billy Connolly’s artistic evolution - raw, inventive, heartfelt and unmistakably his, whilst promising to delight devoted followers and new admirers alike. Originally created between 2012 and 2013 these images take us back to the time when Billy first exposed his art to the wider world, a time marked by extraordinary imagination, humour and rich visual storytelling. Now, more than a decade since their inception, the collection is presented for the first time as hand-signed limited edition artworks, issued in exclusive editions of 50.

Billy adores drawing trees, especially the ones that don’t exist… until you’re not looking. This tree waves playfully: “Tee hee.” Dead trees, he says, hold as much life as living ones. They sway in the wind, they endure, they smell wonderful, they invite touch. 

Billy’s children always pointed out trees on car journeys, and that childlike fascination remains. To him, trees are living presences from another realm, quietly sharing the world with us. 

Often autobiographical and always heartfelt, the works offer rare glimpses into Billy’s inner world - his humour, nostalgia, curiosity and sheer joy of life and its curiosities. Through them, we not only witness his artistic growth, but feel his infectious energy and deeply human perspective. 

This artwork is a hand-signed double hit flatbed Giclée on 100% Cotton Saunders Waterford 300gsm paper, limited edition by Billy Connolly. This artwork is also available in a set of six.
