The Teddy Boy character stands on his black granite base, shaking his maracas in the air. Billy has added his signature linework to the jacket and trousers of the character, adding texture to this already tactile art form.

“Maracas were very popular in the 1950s and 60s to allow a signature look, and to leap around. Mick Jagger used to make great use of them, and they’re a great posing tool.”

Bringing ‘Windswept & Interesting’ to life in stainless-steel, Billy subtly references his time as a welder in the shipyards of Glasgow.
