Drawing inspiration from legendary stunt performer Eddie Kidd and set within a classic Northern Impressionist landscape, the artwork unfolds along cobbled streets where two children race and jump on their bikes, caught in the thrill of the moment and the freedom of youth.

Capturing the unmistakable nostalgia at the heart of Barker’s work, it’s a joyful reflection and celebration of fleeting childhood moments that feel timeless.

A classic monochrome palette forms the backdrop, while subtle, muted architectural tones contrast beautifully with vibrant accents of colour in the children’s clothing, including Bob’s signature red on the framework of the bike.

Inspired by the Yorkshire mill towns that shaped his youth, Bob Barker is known for his 'Northern Impressionism' style. Whilst celebrating the bonds that can be created through shared experiences, a major inspiration for Barker’s work is the unique light from the North of England.
