Moonlight Whispers

Bob’s nostalgic artworks are popular with our collectors around the world, thanks to their timeless charm. Using a muted colour palette that draws attention to the unfolding narrative, the Yorkshire-based painter adds layers of glaze in a style inspired by the Old Masters of the Renaissance.  

This piece features a lovestruck couple who are tenderly kissing under the moon’s glow. Light and shadow is a recurring theme in Bob’s work, with the artist often describing the ‘northern light’ of his youth in Yorkshire mill towns as an important influence.  

Bob says: “Not quite ready to say goodnight…there are still a few sweet nothings left to say, so just keep whispering under the moonlight. Those were the days (and nights).”
