Take Me Home

Take Me Home

Castle Fine Art will be donating £250 per artwork to Bradford City Burns Unit.

Hand-signed Giclée on Canvas Board Limited Edition by Bob Barker.

Marking the 40th anniversary of the Bradford city fire, ‘northern impressionist’ Bob Barker created a painting to commemorate the lives and families affected by the fire. Depicting Valley Parade Stadium and painted in his classic nostalgic style, ‘Take Me Home’ marks a poignant moment in many people’s lives, including the artist’s. His two sons were at the stadium ground when the fire broke out in 1985. Luckily, they weren’t injured and survived, but the fire claimed the lives of 56 fans - 54 Bradford fans and 2 Lincoln fans.

Now in 2025, following a deeply emotional and heartfelt anniversary, a monumental promotion and Bradford being the City of Culture, Barker has painted in memory of the anniversary and in honour of the 56 who tragically lost their lives.

‘Forty years have passed, yet the memory is still very much with us all. We as a city, as a club and as individuals stay painfully aware of the 56 who we lost that day but choose never to forget.’
