Piano Player

Demonstrating his sensibility for storytelling, Point Blank is a notably observant series of works that reads like a glimpse into Bob Dylan’s visual journal. 

In this piece, we see a piano player. As described in the Point Blank (Quick Studies) book, he plays “the Mozart piece ‘Lacrimosa Requiem in D minor’ with his friends filling the room with hushed whispers and thunderous roars.”

The piano is the truth laid bare, in black and white, sharp and flat. It sits in the corner, a million stories waiting to be told with sublime vibration. He plays the intricate strings, the hammers and wires, keys like soldiers. The piano’s been with him all along, the mighty piano. Playing the timeless flow of emotions, bridging the gap between past, present, and future, beauty in its purest form, beauty that knows no bounds. He’s the maestro of melody, playing timeless compositions that transcend the ages.
