Front Row Fashion Show Panic (1)

Showcased as part of his debut collection with Castle Fine Art, ‘Front Row Fashion Show Panic (1)’ depicts a frantic figure dashing to sit on the front row at a luxury fashion show, fragments of their identity trailing behind them.

Recognising himself as that person once upon a time, Boy George now finds the desperation to be seen amongst the ‘frow’ elite hilarious. For him, the beauty of high fashion and couture lies in the artistry, skill and vision, not the furore that surrounds them. This piece reflects on his cyclical relationship with fame and the perception of his public image.

The artwork is printed by a specialist atelier team using layers of silkscreen before Boy George adds hand-embellished details to create a completely unique artwork. Boy George’s extraordinary collection of mixed media original and unique artworks is a sight to behold. Portraying a host of known and unknown icons, they explore themes of identity, transformation and judgement.
