Showcased as part of his debut collection with Castle Fine Art, ‘Scarman Blue (03)’ sees the artist reflect on his image and identity as ‘Boy George’.

Stripping away any adornments and accessories, Boy George’s signature scarman appears in electric blue and intense orange, with a disordered onlooker on each side. The scarman is a frequent visitor in Boy George’s original works, taking on a slightly different identity in every one. The scarman represents us all, healing from our own emotional wounds and tough experiences, bouncing back and looking a little different each time.

Boy George’s extraordinary collection of mixed media original and unique artworks are a sight to behold. Portraying a host of known and unknown icons, they explore themes of identity, transformation and judgement. A true maximalist, no material is off limits, resulting in visual feasts that pour out of the frame.
