While I Breathe, I Hope
This sculpture is a profound representation of the duality of human experience. Crafted from stainless steel, a material chosen for its durability and timelessness, symbolises the strength and permanence of human spirit and connection.
Wanting to represent the strength and adaptability required to navigate modern challenges, the idea for the intricate sculpture first inspired the artist five years ago.
Representing the remnants of past struggles and the scars that have shaped humanity, the sculpture speaks to the resilience and hope that persists, even in the face of adversity. By inviting collectors to see either division or unity, the sculpture challenges them to reflect on their own perspectives and the role they play in holding on to hope. The hope is that, through this reflection, people will be inspired to contribute to a world that is more connected, understanding, and peaceful.
Constantly constructing concepts as physical creations, Lane’s development and experimentation methods coupled with his ability to blend thematic elements, results in work that is simultaneously stylistically distinct and ever evolving.
Dan's sculptures always have a contemporary, urban edge, but as an artist, he is hugely influenced by the creations of the Renaissance and it’s the fusion of the two different styles that make his work so special.
This artwork is a Stainless Steel Sculpture on a Black Granite Base.
