Bambi, Thumper and Birdie (from 'Bambi') (c. 1970s)

Bambi, Thumper and Birdie (from 'Bambi') (c. 1970s)

Based in the 1923 novel “Bambi a Life in the Woods” written by Austrian author and hunter Felix Salten, the fifth Disney animated film is viewed as one of the greatest animated films ever created.

This original 1970's production 'cel' or celluloid would have been used in the original production process after an animators' original drawing was traced onto a sheet of transparent plastic and hand-painted in colour. It would have then been projected in front of a hand-painted background via a multiplane camera to create a minute yet crucial movement in the final film. Now mounted and framed, this piece is the perfect way to add a sophisticated and muted touch of Disney magic to your home. Match with another drawing from our Vintage Disney collection to create a perfect pair.
