The American animator, artist and designer worked for Walt Disney for nearly 30 years, creating impactful art who brought fairytales to life through colour styling and dreamy concept art. Mary Blair introduced Modernism to Disney’s studios, having worked on the 1955 “Lady and the Tramp”, the 1953 “Peter Pan”, the 1951 “Alice in Wonderland”, 1950 “Cinderella”, 1941 “Dumbo”, 1940 “Fantasia” amongst many more. In 1991, the artist was honoured as a Disney Legend.
Based on Charles Perrault's 1697 novel, Cinderella was released in 1950 as the 12th Disney animated feature film. This original concept art piece is from 1950 by artist Mary Blair.
