Owl & Squirrel (From 'Sleeping Beauty', 1959)
Sleeping Beauty' was Walt Disney Studio's 16th feature film and was inspired visually by aspects of Medieval art and 20th century art deco designs, in particular by the tapestries on display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York at the time.
This original production 'cel' or celluloid would have been used in the original production process after an animators' original drawing was traced onto a sheet of transparent plastic and hand-painted in colour. It would have then been projected in front of a hand-painted background via a multiplane camera to create a minute yet crucial movement in the final film. Now mounted and framed, this piece is the perfect way to add a sophisticated and muted touch of Disney magic to your home. Match with another drawing from our Vintage Disney collection to create a perfect pair.
