'The Fox and the Hound' was Walt Disney's 24th animated feature film and marked a milestone for the animating team. Not only was it the last film to be worked on by the remaining members of "Disney's Nine Old Men" but, it was also the first Disney film to be worked on by future directors Tim Burton and Brad Bird, who took over the film after the old animators retired.

This authentic model sheet from the film's production would have been used by animators at Walt Disney Studios for the grown up characters of Tod and Copper. Essential for maintaining consistent character appearance throughout many levels of production and protecting the secrets of Disney's cutting-edge animation, it is unsurprising that model sheets were prohibited from removal from Walt Disney Studios!
