Botanic Kingdom - Gunmetal

Gary James McQueen’s three-dimensional design makes the viewer feel as though they could reach out and touch the frame featured in this lenticular. Inspired by Victorian metal latticework, the artist has recreated elements of the intricate craft in this artwork. Creating a sense of depth, the artist positions a flower-filled silver vase in the darkness at the centre of the image. Butterflies emerge from the darkness and surround the florals. The pastel shades are a pleasant contrast to the metallic tones and intense darkness that surrounds them.
