This authentic limited edition cel is taken from our Hanna-Barbera collection, which features rare animation art from the legendary cartoon studio.
Originally released in 1994, it illustrates two central characters of The Flintstones, Fred Flintstone and his best friend and neighbour, Barney Rubble. Known as 'Twinkletoes' for his sporting prowess, Fred was characterised as a keen (if slightly grumpy) bowler. Unusually, this artwork is signed by four animators, including Iwao Takamoto, who began his animation career as a production and character designer for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The vivid colours of the original artwork were captured by tracing and hand-painting onto the cel using original Hanna-Barbera colours, with the paper background created using a fine lithograph printing process.
