In a brand new 2024 collection, James McQueen embarks on a new chapter in his bold book-based designs. With motifs of pop and street art, we see McQueen utilising a lenticular image for the first time, which changes appearance depending on the viewing angle.

The contemporary lenticular designs blend the old and the new, taking us on a journey with an interactive element. Using a special lens to create the optical illusion, produced using the highest quality material, the elusive artist presents some of his most-loved work in a completely new way, offering two images in one. Weaving tales with his characteristic richly painted surfaces, the lenticular design allows McQueen to capture more than one thematic narrative in a single artwork.

Pairing his signature evocative quotes and recognisable monkey insignia, these artworks bring McQueen’s vintage book covers to life, capturing attention with their depth and movement. The shifting images and highly tactile design create a new sensory experience for the viewer.

With his candid, provocative and poignant words on modern life and love, he speaks a universal language that transcends generations, borders and culture; the relatability of McQueen’s phrases allows the viewer to reflect on their own personal stories, leaving room for the viewer to use their imagination and make their own connections with the artworks.
