Oleanders In The Style of Vincent Van Gogh
John has returned for 2017 with his new Vincent collection: a poignant homage to the legendary Dutch Post-Impressionist painter, Vincent van Gogh.
Originally painted in August 1888, ‘Oleanders’ portrays a blooming jug of the poisonous flowers, juxtaposed by a copy of Emile Zola’s La Joie de Vivre (The Joy of Living).
In his own interpretation, John has playfully inscribed the spine of the book below with ‘Vincent’; perhaps a tongue-in-cheek reference to the alternative story of van Gogh's art he has created.
