Captain America Goes To War Against Drugs | Hand-signed by John Romita Sr.

Captain America Goes To War Against Drugs | Hand-signed by John Romita Sr.

Published in 1991, “Captain America Goes To War Against Drugs” is a Marvel Superhero unique edition of the issue’s cover, hand-signed by John Romita Sr.

The superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, debuted in 1940, representing Steve Rogers, a man who was enhanced to human physical perfection by a “super-soldier serum” after joining the Army. Captain America’s story was adapted to movies, series and supporting roles in other media; as well as featured in the Marvel Universe in supporting roles such as in “The Avengers”.

American comic book artist, the late great John Romita Sr., is known not only for his realistic, naturalist and fluid art style but also for his work on Marvel Comics including The Amazing Spider-Man and for co-creating iconic characters including Wolverine, Mary Jane Watson, and Luke Cage. Having heavily influenced the iconic look of Marvel comics we adore today, Romita was later promoted as Marvel’s art director and later inducted in the Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Inkwell Awards Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame in 2020.
