The vivid contrast between the horse and rider silhouette and background creates a bright artwork that will light up any interior whilst remaining refined and dramatic due to the simple monochrome tones. To the right of the composition, a washing line is expressed through impressionistic brushstrokes which calls upon the artist's memory of rows of washing lines outside Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses which he saw whilst at University.

Made in Birmingham is a brilliant collection by Jon Jones which not only reflects the artist's own identity and background, but also the nature of his invigorating artworks- some currently on a huge exciting display outside Birmingham New Street Station. Jon has kept true to his hometown and artistic genre throughout his career. He explores the dark history of Birmingham through macabre colour palettes and atmospheric figurative works.
