Morgan Freeman - Shawshank

In this textured and dramatic monochrome painting, we see local Birmingham-based artist Jon Jones capture Morgan Freeman in the film The Shawshank Redemption, as Ellis Boyd Redding.

Using a varnish to seal in around three coats of mainly black and white oil paint, the artist creates a luxurious lustre that also accentuates the dramatic contrasts between black and white in the piece. The result is a dark yet bold and bright piece that will create a focal point in any room but can also be combined with other ornaments to create a collaged gallery wall.
