From A Jack To A King (Large)

On this piece, Keith Maiden says: "I wanted to strip back the public mask of Pelé, and reveal the genuine, humble guy beneath with a serious, honest and raw painting. 

I wanted the composition to translate how a bare footed unknown Brazilian went from humble beginnings to became the 'king' of world football. He is draped in a Brazilian flag, sitting/leaning against a wall, painted in sepia tones similar to a photograph from the 1950s or 1960s.

I wanted to capture the humility of the man who was considered, by most, to be the greatest player ever yet he was humble enough at the height of his popularity to even consider someone better than him."
