Set of Two- The Silent Inferno & Loch Lonely

For his Spring 2022 release, acclaimed romantic landscape artist Lawrence Coulson has continued his exploration of scenes inspired by the highlands of Scotland.

The cool, refreshing tones of 'Loch Lonely' that evoke a sense of solitude and calm are accompanied by a "lone fisherman dwarfed by the backdrop of mountains and a moody moonlight sky". This timeless backdrop allows the viewer to escape into the idealised landscape composed of melancholy tones while maintaining a magical and fantastical atmosphere. In contrast, the blazing tones of 'The Silent Inferno' are a backdrop to a couple in awe of the fiery sunset that overpowers them. Perhaps a symbolic representation to the fiery passion between them versus the colder loneliness of the fisherman, the glowing tones of yellow and red could also reflect the burning conflict between two people in juxtaposition to the calm liberty in 'Loch Lonely'.

What is certain, however, is the beautiful and incredible impact of this set of two limited edition artworks. The compositions, colours, and connotations creates a sense of harmony born through contrast that will light up any space.
