Finding Love (Bronze, Cor-ten steel on Granite Base)

The journey from modelling to completion for each sculpture is a lengthy and meticulous process. Lorenzo Quinn begins by sculpting the model in clay or wax to be coated in plaster, ensuring to etch all the details at this stage. Once the plaster has been removed, the finer details are then added, making each limited edition sculpture inherently unique. Layer by layer, the model is coated with liquid ceramic and sand until dry, ready for the molten metal to be poured inside. After breaking the ceramic away from the sculpture, the wielding and colouring can then be added, finalising the piece.

The creative journey for each piece begins with a poem before the any of the sculpting commences.  

Poem: If there were complete silence, it might be possible to sense the sounds of feelings when two people fall in love hearts pounding, knots in the stomach, goose bumps, fleeting glances, lack of air… How beautiful is it to fall in love and how magical it is to stay in love.
