The superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, debuted in 1940, representing Steve Rogers, a man who was enhanced to human physical perfection by a “super-soldier serum” after joining the Army. Captain America’s story was adapted to movies, series and supporting roles in other media; as well as featured in the Marvel Universe in supporting roles such as in “The Avengers”. Published in 2010, “Captain America: The 1940 Newspaper Strip” was written and pencilled by Karl Kesel and had Butch Guice as the cover artist.

The great late Stan Lee, American legendary comic book writer started in 1942 as an editorial assistant for Timely Comics. The Manhattan-born Lee wrote, art-directed and edited most of Marvel’s series, becoming one of the most important figures in the creation of the Marvel Universe.

Presented in a modern black frame, this piece is a Standard Limited edition hand-signed by Stan Lee.
