At The Barre

Working in oil on canvas, Nigel paints a variety of landscapes, beach scenes, and figurative works inspired by his local area. He describes his artistic influences as Sickert, Vuillard, Degas and Whistler which can be seen here in the subject matter of ballet, akin to Degas, and the imperfect realism of their configuration, comparable with Whistler.

Nigel says: “My work depict moments in time. Incidents, usually, between people that speak of human behaviour and relationships."
