He says: "I like the juxtaposition of the body language of the busy waiter and the relaxed diners. There are myriad interplays between the people depicted and that makes for an interesting conversation piece.
It's also pleasing from a technical viewpoint, the painterly technique used successfully evokes both an atmosphere of warmth and of light falling on objects and I'm pleased with the balance of colours."
