Deep in Paul’s imagination is a world of green hills, sunset skies and trees whose leaves never fall. Celebrating his love of the countryside, his new pieces intertwine everyday family experiences with a technique influenced by airbrushing, animation and 3D modelling software.
His paintings begin with a small 5-10cm sketch and evolve through light and shadow once he has selected the colour of the sky.
Speaking on this artwork, he says: “This is an imaginary piece, as a lot of my paintings are these days. I don’t think about colours too much. My main interest is how I can layer everything, and how I can play with light and shadow to evoke emotions.”
