Flatbed '75 - 30 Year Anniversary

Flatbed '75 - 30 Year Anniversary

The year was 1975, the world’s press had gathered in a New York City hotel in anticipation of the announcement of the Stones upcoming “Tour of the Americas ‘75”. A celebrated story in the Rolling Stones illustrious history was about to unfold. Whilst journalists waited inside the hotel for the press conference to begin, a distant noise from outside developed into the screams and sounds of live music. Far from issuing a statement to the press in normal fashion, The Rolling Stones made their tour announcement in true rock and roll fashion by performing “Brown Sugar” live on a the back of a flatbed truck as it drove down Fifth Avenue, scattering tour date flyers as they went.

“Flatbed ’75 - 30 Year Anniversary” published in 2005 captures this famous event perfectly, an event which also marked the beginning of Ronnie’s Rolling Stones career, having been drafted in to the band after the departure of Mick Taylor.

Originally released in 2005 as an edition of 118, Flatbed '75 30 Year Anniversary by Ronnie Wood has been made available again with limited availability as part of the Private Collection, a new body of work which offers a glimpse at the artist's private archives of art.
