Graffiti Gang
Having previously enjoyed commissions from Coca-Cola, Nike and Saatchi & Saatchi and a solo show at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Temper's cover:versions collections saw a change in pace for the graffiti artist. He swapped his spray can for a paintbrush, oils and acrylic to recreate twelve iconic album covers using a combination of photo-realistic effects and his signature graffiti B-boys.
This piece is inspired by the cover art for The Beatles' classic 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. However, instead of the celebrities depicted in the original cover, this piece features an array of previous cover:versions characters in the background, along with new characters created to represent different musical genres, as a nod to the impact music and cover art has had on Temper as an artist.
We worked closely with the artist to produce this bespoke vinyl record frame. Producing the vinyl frame the right way is a time-consuming and labour-intensive undertaking — it requires the use of only premium materials, and relies on the skill and focus of talented artisans.
