Fusing ancient Chinese traditions and Western techniques, Wu’s art combines the rigid properties of bronze with the delicate beauty of human nature.

With influences ranging from flower-arranging to calligraphy, she sensitively abstracts figurative sculpture from its traditional form to explore the difference between Eastern and Western aesthetics.

Wu says: “There are times when we feel like we’re walking on a seesaw, trying to balance right and wrong without falling over. At the end of each day, we dust off the weights we picked up during the day, shifting step by step to the middle of the path so we can reset.”
